Brad Pitt At UK Grand Prix For F1 Film

Actor/producer Brad Pitt was on hand trackside at the British Grand Prix this weekend filming scenes for his forthcoming untitled Formula 1 feature film at Apple Original Films reports CNN (via India Times).

The Oscar winner met fans in the paddock at the Silverstone circuit in Northamptonshire, England, where Pitt is collaborating with former F1 world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton and “Top Fun: Maverick” director Joseph Kosinski on the feature.

F1 is officially collaborating on the project with Pitt and his co-stars said to be filming around their own pitstop adjacent to the track and scoring unrestricted access to the event. Pitt also reportedly took to the track where he reached speeds of 150mph.

Pitt joined all the Formula 1 drivers at the official pre-race meeting, with Hamilton telling the news outlet it was: “possibly the most remarkable drivers’ briefing we’ve ever had.”

Pitt also spoke about the film’s plot with Sky Sports, saying:

“I play a guy who raced in the 1990s who has a horrible crash and disappears to race in other disciplines. His friend, played by Javier Bardem, the team owner, contacts him. They’re last in the grid. They haven’t scored a point. But they have a young phenom, played by Damson Idris, and they bring me in as kind of a hail mary. You’ve never seen speed, you’ve never seen the G-forces like this, the footage is really, really exciting.”

Tobias Menzies and Kerry Condon co-star in the film, with Ehren Kruger penning the script and Jerry Bruckheimer producing. No release date has yet been set.
