It seems some basic lightsaber duels weren’t enough as actor John Boyega has confirmed that his former stormtrooper character of Finn from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will be getting a greater physical role in Rian Johnson’s upcoming “Star Wars: Episode VIII”.
Speaking with Vogue, the 23-year-old English actor was asked about how the next film is coming along. He responded:
“[We’re] just starting work on ‘Star Wars VIII,’ the next film, so I’m back to keeping secrets again. [The script is] great. Much darker, but we’re very excited…for [Force Awakens] we really just took it scene by scene, there wasn’t a huge regime. My part in the next film will be much more physical so I might be in the gym a bit more.”
“Star Wars: Episode VIII” is slated to begin production shortly ahead of a May 26th 2017 release.
