“Bond 25” Launch Reveals Cast, No Title

Bond 25 Launch Reveals Cast No Title

EON Productions has just held its event announcing the start of production on the next James Bond film, the 25th overall in the franchise and the fifth and final outing of Daniel Craig in the role.

Announced from author Ian Fleming’s famed villa Goldeneye in Jamaica in a rather haphazardly organised and often uncomfortable event, the big question was about the title and… nothing. No title has yet been decided on says producer Michael G. Wilson.

The film’s casting was fully announced though. Returnees include Craig as James Bond, Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, Ralph Fiennes as M, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner and surprisingly Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter.

Joining them in this outing is Rami Malek (“Bohemian Rhapsody”) as the villain along with Lashana Lynch (“Captain Marvel”), Billy Magnussen (“Game Night”), David Dencik (“Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”), Ana De Armas (“Blade Runner 2049”) and Dali Benssalah (“Nox”).

A synopsis has also been released: “Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.”

Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Scott Z. Burns and Phoebe Waller-Bridge have also been confirmed as the film’s writers.

Filming will take place in Norway, Jamaica, Matera in Italy and at the franchise’s home at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom with the movie set to open April 8th 2020.
