Having already worked together on the likes of Kathryn Bigelow’s “Zero Dark Thirty” and “The Hurt Locker,” producer Megan Ellison and writer Mark Boal are re-teaming for a political drama event series about the 2016 U.S. Presidential election.
The plan is to develop the eight to ten-episode series through Boal’s Page 1 company in which Ellison is a partner. Boal expects to make his directorial debut on the series which he will pen the script for.
Additionally Hugo Lindgren, a former editor of the New York Times magazine, is assembling a group of investigative journalists as contributors to the project.
Boal and Ellison don’t have a broadcast partner at this point.
