Blumhouse and Miramax’s planned Dracula-inspired film “Mina Harker” has been scrapped just three weeks out from filming. The crew was informed of the project’s scuttling yesterday.

Emmy winner Jasmine Cephas Jones was set to headline the series which “The Invitation,” “Destroyer” and “Yellowjackets” pilot helmer Karyn Kusama was to direct. However, production isn’t happening with Miramax exiting the project over creative differences with the filmmaker.

Set in contemporary Los Angeles, the story was to center on protagonist Mina Harker who plays opposite Dracula who was to go by the name Vladimir in the film. Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi penned the script based on Bram Stoker’s novel.
