“Blue Beetle” Sets Digital Release Date

Warner Bros. Pictures will reportedly release its DC Comics adaptation “Blue Beetle” on digital and VOD platforms on Tuesday, September 19th.

When to Stream broke the release news that follows 32 days after the film’s theatrical run which kicked off on August 18th.

It’s the exact same interval as seen with “The Flash” movie (32 days) whilst “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” became available to purchase online just three weeks after opening worldwide.

The site adds there is no word of a premiere date on Max, but they’re estimating it will be sometime in early November.

The film, which was originally set to stream directly on HBO Max before shifting gears to a theatrical release, scored good reviews with critics along with a B+ CinemaScore with audiences.

Ángel Manuel Soto directed the film about recent college grad Jaime who unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab, which chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host. He is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers.

The film has grossed nearly $50 million in the US and $85 million worldwide. Xolo Maridueña, Adriana Barraza, Damián Alcázar, Raoul Max Trujillo, Susan Sarandon, George Lopez lead the cast of the film which is currently playing in theaters worldwide.
