Gunzilla Games has set “District 9” and “Elysium” director and co-screenwriter Neill Blomkamp as their new ‘chief visionary officer’.
Blomkamp will work with the company on an unannounced AAA multiplayer shooter title – the aim being to bring his directorial skills to game aesthetics and storytelling.
While details of the game are under wraps, he says: “I think the idea of near-future science fiction is something that is really interesting. Conceptually, as well as from a visual and design point of view, that’s my favorite zone to be inside of.”
This marks the first time the filmmaker has ventured into game development.
