The Warner Bros. Discovery pulling of content from HBO Max is now spreading elsewhere with Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim removing five original anime series from the brand’s official website and HBO Max.
The series, which aired during the Toonami programming block, include the high-profile “Blade Runner: Black Lotus,” “Shenmue: The Animation,” “Fena: Pirate Princess,” “Lazor Wulf” and “Tigtone”.
Adult Swim Senior Vice President Jason DeMarco confirmed the news, retweeting the account CN News/Schedules which broke the story. He confirms the series are expected to still be available via digital downloads and Crunchyroll.
Sadly he also confirms that there won’t be a second season of “Shenmue” even though it did well enough they had planned to continue.
This follows on from numerous original series being stricken from HBO Max and Cartoon Network’s website like “Infinity Train,” “Aquaman: King of Atlantis,” ‘Summer Camp Island” and more.
