Disney will reportedly likely delay Marvel Studios’ “Black Widow” from its planned November 6th release date.
Multiple sources with knowledge of the situation tell Variety that the studio is also exploring various release options for Pixar’s “Soul” which was to be released theatrically on November 20th.
Though it has been suggested they are considering releasing “Soul” on the Disney+ service, an insider has disputed those claims. Even if it were it’s unclear if it will be free of charge or if it will take the “Mulan” route and go ‘Premier Access’.
Should these go forward and with the recent delays of “Wonder Woman 1984,” “Candyman” and most recently “Greenland,” it means the next major tentpole on the release slate could well be the Bond film “No Time to Die” on November 20th.
Around 70% of U.S. cinemas have reopened, but many are having trouble attracting audiences while key domestic markets such as New York City and Los Angeles are still closed.
Warner Bros. Pictures hoped “Tenet” would usher in a return to moviegoing, but the film has made a disappointing $29 million in North America after two weeks of release.
