The extended production hiatus of Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” officially began today and will reportedly run for the remainder of 2021.

As previously reported, this will allow star Letitia Wright additional time to recuperate from on-set injuries, which included a critically fractured shoulder and a concussion with severe side effects, sustained whilst filming in Boston in August.

Production will resume with Wright on board in January. Wright’s character Shuri is expected to take on a more prominent role in the sequel. At present, the film is still on track for a November 11th 2022 opening.
