“Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris has reportedly been set to pen the film adaptation of the classic sitcom “Good Times” for Sony Pictures.
The original 1970s series was a spinoff of “Maude” and followed the struggles of working-class couple James and Florida Evans.
The pair raised three kids through financial hardship as they tried to keep their kids away from trouble during a politically and socially turbulent time in a Chicago housing project.
This new film version of the series will be set in the 1960s. Scott Rudin and Eli Bush are producing.
