The Margot Robbie-led “Birds of Prey” film has locked in an opening with Warner Bros. Pictures setting a February 7th 2020 release date for the Cathy Yan-directed project. That would put it one week ahead of the recently re-scheduled next James Bond film.
The film will see Robbie reprise her “Suicide Squad” role of Harley Quinn in an all-female team-up film and the date announcement comes as ‘Squad’ director David Ayer has taken to social media today to admit he went a little too far with one element in that film – Jared Leto’s Joker.
In particular, the ‘damaged’ tattoo across Leto’s forehead is something even Ayer regrets now, saying on Twitter: “Yes, I have to fall on that sword. It was one step too far.” The fate of the “Suicide Squad” sequel remains uncertain at this point.
