Producers David Permut and Steve Binder are planning a feature film adaptation of Alanna Nash’s 2003 book “The Colonel” says Variety.
The story follows a shadowy hustler on the carnival circuit who reinvented himself as Colonel Tom Parker, the Svengali behind the world’s most famous entertainer – Elvis Presley.
Parker built Presley into a global music and film star – and in doing so took 50% of his earnings. There’s also claims of Parker’s possible involvement in a woman’s murder in the Netherlands before he arrived in the US.
