SPOILERS AHEAD FOR “BILLIONS” S5 FINALE

The fifth season finale of “Billions” has just aired and Showtime is wasting no time in getting fans ready for the next batch of episodes.

Not only has the global high-finance world-set drama already been renewed for a sixth season but production is underway and a January 23rd premiere airdate has been locked in.

Meanwhile, Damian Lewis has made it official and has exited the series after a five-season run as hedge fund billionaire Bobby Axelrod. The character was seen in the finale escaping with a hoard of money to Switzerland to avoid prosecution in New York.

Corey Stoll’s Mike Prince character, who joined the show in the fifth season, will now take center stage alongside Paul Giamatti’s Chuck Rhoades and Maggie Siff’s Wendy Rhoades for the sixth season.

In addition, Daniel Breaker in his role as Prince’s chief-of-staff Scooter has been upped to a series regular. While Lewis will no longer be a series regular going forward, producers are hoping the character could return one day.
