He played Pennywise in “IT,” now star Bill Skarsgard is set to take on another famed character as he’s the latest name attached to take on the lead role of Eric Draven in “The Crow” reboot.

The original indie comic by James O’Barr follows Eric Draven and his fiancee who are assaulted and killed by a gang after the couple’s car breaks down. Eric is resurrected by a crow and exacts vengeance on those who took his life and the life of his love.

Rupert Sanders (“Snow White and the Huntsman,” “Ghost in the Shell”) will direct the supernatural revenge thriller which Edward R. Pressman and Malcolm Gray will produce. “King Richard” scribe Zach Baylin will pen the script.

Unlike past attempts to get the film going, this one looks like it’s genuinely happening with the $50 million-budgeted project well into pre-production ahead of a June start in Prague and Munich.

Filmmakers like Stephen Norrington, F. Javier Gutierrez and Corin Hardy while actors like Luke Evans and Jason Momoa have been linked to past failed attempts to revive the franchise.
