“Big Mouth,” “Truth Be Told” Set Their Ends

Netflix, Apple TV+

Netflix’s animated comedy “Big Mouth” and its spinoff “Human Resources” are both coming to an end on Netflix.

“Big Mouth” has been renewed for an eighth and final season to air sometime in 2024 – making it the longest-running scripted series in the streamer’s history (not including kids and family programming).

There’ll be plenty of episodes to come, with a seventh season launching later this year. The series follows a group of middle school kids and their hormone monsters as they navigated the perils of adolescence.

“Human Resources” will end with its soon-to-premiere second season, but characters from that show will also appear in the final season of “Big Mouth”.

Meanwhile, the Apple TV+ anthology series “Truth Be Told” is also coming to an end. Star and executive producer Octavia Spencer, who plays crime-solving podcaster Poppy Scoville, revealed on Monday the series would not return for a fourth season.

The show’s third season, which co-starred Gabrielle Union, wrapped its run in March. The project hailed from showrunner Nichelle Tramble Spellman.

The news at Apple TV+ was better for Eugene Levy with his travel show “The Reluctant Traveler” renewed for a second season which will be centered in Europe.
