A tweet on Monday from writer/producer Glenn Gordon Caron suggests something is going on with “Moonlighting” franchise – the famed 1980s drama which Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis.
Caron, who created the series along with shows like “Bull” and “Now and Again,” has teased a big announcement Wednesday, saying “Disney and I have put our heads together and come up with a plan”. Whilst rumors of a reboot have been around for years, there’s been no indication of anything ready to be announced at this time.
A more likely scenario would be getting the existing five seasons of the series either on Disney+ or Hulu, something that has been very difficult to do due to music licensing issues.
Earlier this year Caron indicated that due to the series heavily relying on music, the studio thought it cost prohibitive to pursue the rights, and Caron declined Disney’s request to swap in cheaper music.
