If Taylor Swift can do it, why not Beyonce?
A concert film based on Beyonce’s smash hit “Renaissance” World Tour is in advanced talks to be distributed directly to AMC Theatres reports Variety.
Agency CAA reportedly held preliminary talks with major studios and streamers two weeks ago and urged them to be ready to bid on the project.
Whereas the Taylor Swift film due next month is a more straightforward concert film based on her widely-attended “The Eras Tour,” the Beyonce film will be a blend of several different elements.
Partly it will include segments from her top-grossing Renaissance World Tour live shows this year, which is expected to gross close to $560 million in ticket sales.
There’s also parts of her long-gestating visual album “Renaissance”, likely a package of music videos that were completed nearly a year ago, and a documentary-style account of the record’s making and assembly of the tour itself.
Like the Swift film though, the terms are expected to see Beyonce receive the same arrangement and stands to take more than 50% of the worldwide grosses.
The Beyonce film is already reportedly eyeing a December 1st wide release which would give it two weeks clear of any other wide releases before “Wonka” and the “Chicken Run” sequel hit.
