Sarah Barnett, former head of BBC America and now president of AMC’s entertainment networks group, has confirmed that the “Breaking Bad” spin-off “Better Call Saul” won’t return until 2020.
The delay is said to be happening to give the writer’s room more time to develop the next season. Barnett says: “It’s driven by talent needs, which we would not override if it would result in a worse show.”
Barnett adds the time is approaching in which the series will come to an end as Jimmy McGill’s transformative arc into the fast-talking crime layer Saul Goodman nears its conclusion. The fourth season ran from August to October 2018.
