BBC To Air Jonathan Glazer’s Dancing Short

Seven years since his last film “Under the Skin,” filmmaker Jonathan Glazer is returning with his new short film “Strasbourg 1518” which is expected to debut on BBC in coming weeks.

The dance-focused project is inspired by the current pandemic and the so-called ‘Dancing Plague’ that occurred five centuries ago in France where dozens of people danced for days.

Artangel and dance company Sadler’s Wells commissioned the short which will have its world premiere on BBC Two as part of the network’s “BBC Arts Culture in Quarantine” initiative later this month.

Glazer shot the short film “The Fall” last year, and is set to write and direct a holocaust drama for A24. “Under the Skin” meanwhile is being turned into a TV series.
