The BBC has renewed its James Nesbitt-led crime drama series “Bloodlands” for a second season. The renewal comes ahead of the noir-ish drama’s U.S. launch tomorrow on Acorn TV.
After twenty years, an infamous cold case involving the legendary assassin ‘Goliath’ re-appears for veteran DCI Tom Brannick – one tied to a turbulent period in Northern Ireland history and to Brannick himself whose wife was one of Goliath’s victims.
The four-part series from “Bodyguard” creator Jed Mercurio became the broadcaster’s biggest drama launch ever in Northern Ireland and with 8.2 million viewers in the UK total. Whilst ratings have been good, reviews have been mixed.
