Battlefield 2042 Among Steams Worst

Five months since launch, EA’s issyes with “Battlefield 2042” continue as the game reportedly fell below 1,000 concurrent players on Steam for the first time on Monday according to SteamCharts via VGC.

That’s down from an all-time peak of 100,590 around launch. “Battlefield 2042” had an average concurrent player count of 1,963 over the past 30 days, far below that of its predecessor “Battlefield V” which had one of 11,585 in the same period.

Rival Microsoft’s “Halo Infinite,” which has had its own set of problems and lack of fresh content, still managed an average concurrent player count of 5,767 over the past 30 days.

These figures only track Steam users – not Origin users or console users. In February, Electronic Arts attributed some of the game’s struggles to the early launch of the more polished multiplayer experience in “Halo Infinite”.

EA’s planning a new update of “Battlefield 2042” this month with voice chat and a refreshed scoreboard along with changes to the map design.
