Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released the trailer for its latest animated Batman film “Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham”, which will be released digitally, on Blu-ray, and as a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack on March 28th.
The project is the latest in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies line-up and is an adaptation of the three-issue ‘Elsewhere’ comic book miniseries that was published in 2000 and was penned by Mike Mignola and Richard Pace.
The 1920s-based tale sees the very logic-driven Batman returning to Gotham after an extended absence and going up against “Lovecraftian supernatural forces threatening the sheer existence of Gotham as he’s aided and confronted along the way by reimagined versions of his well-known allies and enemies.”
David Giuntoli (“Grimm”) leads the cast as Bruce Wayne/Batman, reprising a role he previously played in the DCAU film “Batman: Soul of the Dragon” which was released in January 2021.
Also onboard are Tati Gabrielle (“Uncharted”) as Kai Li Cain, Christopher Gorham (“The Lincoln Lawyer”) as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, Patrick Fabian (“Better Call Saul”) as Harvey Dent/Two-Face, John DiMaggio (“Futurama”) as James Gordon, and David Dastmalchian (“Dune”) as Grendon.
Batman villains who will reportedly appear in the film include Ra’s al Ghul, Mr. Freeze and Killer Croc, among others. Other DCAU films planned for 2023 are “Legion of Super-Heroes” and “Justice League: Warworld” along with another as yet unannounced film also on the way.
