“Batman: Mask of the Phantasm” 4K Trailer

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released the official trailer for its 4K UHD disc release of 1993’s “Batman: Mask of the Phantasm” which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

The story begins when some of Gotham City’s most feared gangsters are systematically eliminated by a sinister figure called the Phantasm. At the same time, Bruce (Kevin Conroy) reconciles with his former lover Andrea Beaumont (Dana Delany).

As the authorities blame Batman and hunt him down, and the criminals who think they are next enlist the help of The Joker (Mark Hamill), Batman must find the truth about the mysterious vigilante.

For over twenty years, it was the only theatrically released film to come out of the iconic original 1990s “Batman: The Animated Series”. A cult classic, it has long been considered one of the best works from the Dini & Timm era of Batman on screen.

Though only in cinemas for a brief period where it didn’t take off at the box-office, its success on home video led to other direct-to-video releases – none of which were ever quite able to recapture the magic at work here.

The two-disc set will be released on September 12th.
