The classic 1990s show that changed animation, “Batman: The Animated Series,” will be turned into a virtual reality (VR) experience for View-Master.
The iconic stereoscopic photo viewer scored a major makeover last year, basically becoming a Google Cardboard-compatible virtual reality headset that can be used with any compatible Android or iOS phone.
Now, DC Entertainment, Mattel and Los Angeles-based cloud-based graphics processing and holographic imagery specialist OTOY are teaming on the animated “Batman” title.
Batman is expected to be only be the first of a number of characters to find a second life on the View-Master with Mattel partnering with OTOY to produce more content for the platform.
