Jason Bateman is being sought to both star in and direct “IPO Man” for Fox Searchlight. The project is an adaptation of Joshua Davis’ Wired magazine article about a man named Mike Merrill who offered himself on the stock market.
Problems arose when shareholders demanded control over life decisions like whether to have a vasectomy or even whether he should move in with his longtime girlfriend. Majority shareholders began to exert input in his future attempts at a romantic merger.
“Transparent” scribes Micah Fitzerman-Blue & Noah Harpster are penning the script while Batman and Jim Garavente will produce.
