Jay Baruchel and writing partner Jesse Chabot are teaming to co-script sports comedy “Baseballissimo” reports Variety.
Based on Dave Bidini’s popular 2005 non-fiction book, the story charts the author’s family adventures in Nettuno, a city in Italy where American G.I.s introduced baseball in 1944.
Rush frontman Geddy Lee optioned the book last year. Baruchel co-wrote the hockey comedy “Goon” which just premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
