It has been confirmed that the upcoming fourth season of HBO’s dark comedy “Barry” will serve as the show’s last and will premiere on the streamer on April 16th.
A teaser trailer has been released for this last run of eight episodes which picks up after the end of the third season with Barry (Bill Hader) now in prison and his story coming to an end. Cousineau (Henry Winkler) is hailed as a hero as Barry’s arrest has shocking consequences.
In a brief statement released by the network, the show’s star, writer, co-creator, and director Hader says: “It’s been an amazing journey making this show, and it’s bittersweet that the story has come to its natural conclusion.”

The series follows a depressed, low-rent hitman from the Midwest, who suddenly finds himself invested into acting when he discovers an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the LA theater scene. Stephen Root, Sarah Goldberg, Glenn Fleshler, Anthony Carrigan also co-star.
It is one of HBO’s most acclaimed series of the past five years. The first three seasons earning nine Primetime Emmy wins.
