Kevin Bacon, Giancarlo Esposito, Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, musician Moses Sumney and award-winning artist Halsey have all been cast alongside Mia Goth in “MaXXXine” for A24.
The project marks the third film in Ti West’s horror trilogy that began with “X” and “Pearl”, both released to much acclaim last year.
Whereas “X” was set in the 1970s and “Pearl” a prequel in 1918, “MaXXXine” follows Maxine (Goth) after the events of “X” as the sole survivor continues her journey towards fame – setting out to make it as an actress in Los Angeles 1985.
This marks the biggest cast by far of the film series, with West once again back to write and direct. The new project was teased six months ago with an end credits trailer on “Pearl” last year.
Jacob Jaffke, West, Goth, Kevin Turen, and Harrison Kreiss will produce the film, which begins production this month.
