The teaser trailer for the second season of Netflix’s live-action “Avatar: The Last Airbender” remake has been released ahead of the show’s return next year.
The show is an adaptation of the popular animated Nickelodeon show from the 2000s, with the plan being to run three seasons, thus matching the three-season run of the original.
Gordon Cormier stars as Aang, a boy who can control the four elements of air, water, earth and fire as the all-powerful Avatar. In the first season, he met water bender Katara (Kiawentiio) and her brother Sokka (Ian Ousley).
In the second season, Aang learns earth bending from the blind prodigy Toph Beifong (Miya Cech) and competes in an earth-bending competition. The trailer also shows Zuko’s sister Azula (Elizabeth Yu) bending lighting. Also returning are Prince Zuko (Dallas Liu), Uncle Iroh (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) and Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim).
Other new cast members for Season 2 include Terry Chen as Jeong Jeong, Dolly de Leon as Lo and Li, Madison Hu as Wei, Lily Gan as Ursa, Dichen Lachman as Yangchen, Hot Xuande as Professor Zei, Chin Han as Long Fen, Justin Chien as King Kuei, Amanda Zhou as Joo Dee, Crystal Yu as Lady Beefing, Kelemete Misipeka as The Boulder, Lourdes Faberes as General Sung, and Rekha Sharma as Amita.
Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko created the series, while Albert Kim serves as showrunner.
