Aubrey Plaza is a familiar face to Marvel fans. She previously starred in the acclaimed FX series “Legion,” which has ties back to the “X-Men” franchise.
More recently she joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actress scoring a role in the already shot “WandaVision” spin-off series “Agatha: Darkhold Diaries” expected to release next year.
However there’s one other superhero project she wishes she could’ve been a part of. In a video interview with Cosmopolitan that was recently shared by PlazaUpdates, she spoke about a failed audition she had for 2018’s “Deadpool 2”.
Though Plaza doesn’t specifically which role she auditions for, it’s likely for the X-Force member Domino – a role that ultimately went to Zazie Beetz:
“There’s a lot of roles that I really wanted that I didn’t get, but everything happens for a reason. I don’t know, the one that sticks out to me for some reason is Deadpool 2. I’d just come off a plane and I think I was shooting Legion at the time. I was really not in a good zone because auditioning – you have to be in an auditioning zone and I was in a work zone. That one hurt. Me and Ryan Reynolds, what could go wrong? We’d be so great together, but [I] blew it.”
Beetz’s Domino was well received at the time, but the character won’t be returning for the upcoming third “Deadpool” film.
