A bunch of feature and TV productions are returning to work.
Donald Glover’s comedy series “Atlanta” is expected to resume production in the ‘first half of 2021’ according to FX chief John Landgraf. It’ll join many of FX’s series which have already returned to production including “Fargo,” “Breeders” and “A Teacher”. The plan is still to shoot Atlanta’s third and fourth seasons back-to-back with the scripts already completed.
Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Presley biopic, temporarily halted back in March, is slated to resume filming on September 23rd in Queensland, Australia. The Tom Hanks and Austin Butler-led film was one of the first impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and has now been given the greenlight to resume production in the next few weeks.
Netflix’s third season of its dramedy “Sex Education” is back in production with a new video on Twitter showing cast and crew back on set for the next chapter of the teen series.
Shudder has announced the start of production on the second season of its “Creepshow” revival. Filming is underway in Atlanta, Georgia with this season’s stars including Keith David, Adam Pally and Anna Camp.
NBC’s long-running sketch comedy “Saturday Night Live” is officially returning to Studio 8H for their upcoming 46th season. The series will air a live episode on October 3rd. The show’s last in-studio episode was on March 7th hosted by Daniel Craig. Three home editions were produced remotely with cast members filming sketches from their homes.
