Having had success with ‘prestige horror’ such as “Hereditary,” “Midsommar,” “It Comes At Night” and “The Witch,” distributor A24 is touting its religious-themed horror tale “Saint Maud” as the next big film in this particular genre.
Timed with Ash Wednesday, A24 has released a new trailer for the film about Maud, a newly devout hospice nurse who becomes obsessed with saving her dying patient’s soul. However, sinister forces and her own sinful past, threaten to put an end to her holy calling.
The project marks the debut film from writer-director Rose Glass and stars actors Morfydd Clark, Jennifer Ehle, Lilly Frazer, Lily Knight, Marcus Hutton, Turlough Convery, and Rosie Sansom.
“Saint Maud” hits cinemas on April 3rd.
