Ariana Grande Joins “Meet the Parents 4”

Universal Pictures

Grammy winning singer turned “Wicked” star Ariana Grande has set her next film, the fourth installment of the “Meet the Parents” franchise at Universal Pictures.

Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller are set to return while Blythe Danner and Teri Polo are also expected back, though their deals haven’t closed as yet.

John Hamburg, who co-wrote all three prior films, wrote the screenplay for the new one and will also take on the project as a director this time out.

The trade says one element of the story will see the son of Stiller and Polo’s characters becoming engaged to “a ball-busting woman who seems all wrong for him”. Grande will play that fiancée.

The original film centers on the awkward and tension-filled dynamics between male nurse Greg Focker (Stiller) and his intimidating, ex-CIA father-in-law, Jack Byrnes (De Niro). Critically acclaimed, it made $330 million worldwide.

The total franchise so far has grossed over $1.13 billion. Jay Roach, Jane Rosenthal and De Niro are also set to produce the film which Universal will release on November 25th 2026.
