Back on Tuesday came a report in Variety about the behind-the-scenes drama on James Wan’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom”.
A good chunk of the article cited uncovered court documents used in the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial with the claims indicating two of Heard’s major scenes were cut from the movie.
In a follow-up over on The Hot Mic podcast today, scooper Jeff Sneider spoke about the cut scenes and it turns out they were just the start.
He tells the outlet her scenes accounted for something like 10% of what was removed from the film:
“I’m told there were like twenty scenes cut. Twenty scenes, basically, cut from Aquaman 2, and two of them featured her. She’s not even in the movie that much, from what I understand.”
The new film features the return of Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Heard as Mera, and Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin.
They’re joined by Pilou Asbaek Indya Moore, Jani Zhao and Vincent Regan. The film opens in December.
