Apple TV+ Launches “Fraggle Rock” Reboot

The Apple TV+ has not only ordered a sort of reboot of Jim Henson’s 1980s classic muppet series “Fraggle Rock,” but the first episode is set to become available on the service from today.

Titled “Fraggle Rock: Rock On!,” each mini-episode will be three to five minutes long and will premiere for free globally every Tuesday. Classic characters like Gobo, Red, Boober, Mokey, Wembley, and Uncle Traveling Matt are all back.

The Fraggles might be in different parts of the Fraggle Rock caves at the moment, but they can still find ways to have fun together, with music, silliness, and special guests along with the various wild creations of the Doozers.

The all-new short form episodes are executive produced by Halle Stanford and John Tartaglia and, in accordance with current social distancing guidelines, is all shot on iPhone 11s from the homes of the production team and individual artists from all over the United States.

HBO began airing remastered original episodes of “Fraggle Rock” in 2016. A teaser of the new series, and the original’s famed opening song, can be seen below.
