Apple Teases “Ted Lasso” S3, “Hello” & More

Apple TV+

Apple TV+ used its Television Critics Association press event to confirm a Spring launch window for the third season of “Ted Lasso” – putting the celebrated comedy in Emmys contention for this year.

In addition, photos have been released showing Ted (Jason Sudeikis) face-to-face with Nathan Shelley (Nick Mohammed), who basically turned into an antagonist over the course of the second season and are now rival coaches.

Co-creator Bill Lawrence and writer/actor Brett Goldstein were on hand at the TCA panel to promote “Shrinking”, where Lawrence thanked Sudeikis for taking the reins of the new season, which allowed Lawrence to focus on his new comedy.

It is as yet unknown if the upcoming instalment will be the series finale, though the possibility has been teased by various cast members.

Apple confirmed the second season of “Schmigadoon!” will launch on April 7th with new episodes rolling out weekly through May 5th. They also confirmed the Jennifer Garner and Angourie Rice-led thriller series “The Last Thing He Told Me,” about a woman and her stepdaughter who team-up to find their missing husband/father. It premieres its first two episodes on Friday, April 14th.

They also released trailers for four of the service’s upcoming series. “Dear Edward” launches February 3rd and stars Connie Britton and Taylor Schilling in the story of a group of strangers who come together to find meaning in their lives again following a plane crash.

“Hello Tomorrow!” launches February 17th and is set in a retro-futuristic world where charismatic salesman Jack Billings (Billy Crudup) leads a team of fellow sales associates hawking timeshares on the moon.

Then there’s “The Reluctant Traveler,” an eight-part globetrotting series that sees Eugene Levy, who normally hates travelling, step out of his comfort zone and takes us to some of the world’s most beautiful locations.

Finally, a teaser is out for “The Big Door Prize”, which deals with a small town that is forever changed when a mysterious machine appears in the general store, promising to reveal each resident’s true life potential. A premiere date is TBD.
