Apple has officially handed out a series order for the drama series “Sugar” starring Colin Farrell.
Apple reportedly won the rights to the series back in December, but it had not officially been ordered to series at that time.
The genre-bending contemporary tale is set in Los Angeles and follows a private detective. Mark Protosevich (“The Cell,” “Thor”) serves as writer and executive producer.
“City of God” filmmaker Fernando Meirelles will direct and will executive produce alongside Farrell, Simon Kinberg, Audrey Chon, Scott Greenberg and Chip Vucelich.
Farrell remains attached to HBO Max’s “The Batman” spin-off series focusing on his The Penguin character.
