Apple Original Films has come out the winner in an intense bidding war for the previously announced Jon Watts-directed untitled thriller that will reunite George Clooney and Brad Pitt on screen.
The story will center on two lone wolf fixers assigned to the same job. Watts will write and direct the thriller, Clooney and Pitt will star and all three will produce for Smokehouse Pictures and Plan B Entertainment.
Apple reportedly beat out the likes of Sony, Netflix and Lionsgate for the rights, while Amazon, Annapurna, Universal, MGM, and Warner Bros. were also said to be in the mix.
Clooney and Pitt previously teamed on the “Ocean’s 11” films and the Coens’ “Burn After Reading”.
