Another “God of War” Game Coming?

Recent job listings for Santa Monica Studio, the developers behind the highly acclaimed “God of War” series, have raised some eyebrows amongst fans.

One listing, in particular, is seeking a Combat Designer to join the California-based team on the development of a “new unannounced title”.

The listing also has a very specific requirement for the role: “Must have knowledge of God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök (2022) and be able to speak in depth about the combat systems, mechanics, and enemies.”

Whilst knowledge of their past games would be understandable for any hires, the specificity of the language used here suggests they are seeking someone specifically for a “God of War”-related project.

Back in May, the company also had a posting for a “Senior Combat Designer (Companions)” role at the company featuring the same wording regarding specific knowledge and experience with the systems of the Norse-era “God of War” games.

This has understandably led to speculation a new “God of War” game is coming, one that would follow ‘Ragnarök’ which sold 11 million copies in its first three months of release along with snagging a stellar 94/100 score on Metacritic.
