Oscar-winning editor Angus Wall, who worked on five Fincher films like “Zodiac” and “The Social Network,” is reportedly at work on a new documentary about SNL alum turned film star Eddie Murphy reports Collider.

Producers John Davis and John Fox, who have made five films with Murphy ranging from “Norbit” to “Dolemite Is My Name,” are backing the project titled “The Last Stand” which has been in the works since early 2019.

The doco will deal with Murphy who is expected to return to the stage for a final shot at stand-up comedy – an arena in which he was a legend in the 1980s with specials like “Raw” and “Delirious”.

Davis says he isn’t quite sure what form the project will ultimately take be it a film or a multi-part series and they’re not restricting themselves yet on that front until they know what they’ve got.

Either way they’re “shooting hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of hours” with not just comedy routines but Murphy speaking candidly about the “early days in the business, his perception of comedy, people who influenced him, understanding what the life of a stand-up is, what makes him different from other stand-ups.”

Murphy has in the past admitted he cringes at some of his specials looking back as certain jokes have not aged well.
