Tony Award-winner Andrew Burnap has scored the male lead role in Disney’s live-action take on their 1938 animated classic “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves”.
Burnap joins Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen in the Marc Webb-directed feature. Burnap will reportedly portray a new male character created for the film, and will also sing.
Marc Platt is producing this and the already shot live-action “The Little Mermaid” which is also on the way from Disney. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (“The Greatest Showman,” “La La Land”) will pen new songs for the film.
Shooting is scheduled to kick off this spring in the UK. Burnap, coming off raves for his work in the play “Inheritance,” will be seen later this year in the Apple+ series “WeCrashed” and alongside Andrew Garfield in the indie feature “Under the Banner of Heaven”.
