We know that the upcoming “Ahsoka” series is set in “The Mandalorian” time period, years after the events of the original “Star Wars” trilogy.
That makes a freshly released photo from Empire this morning rather surprising as it appears to show an Imperial Inquisitor popping up in the new series.
The Inquisitors, lethal Jedi-hunting enforcers for the Empire, were introduced in the animated “Star Wars Rebels” series which serves as the precursor to “Ahsoka”. They’ve also appeared in other media set around the ‘Rebels’ time period – from the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” mini-series to the “Jedi: Fallen Order” games.
However, it was thought their kind was defeated with the fall of the empire. How one’s back here isn’t clear and the magazine does not reveal the name of this character. However the image suggests its potentially The Eighth Brother who seemingly died in the second season of ‘Rebels’.
One possibility is from a flashback. It was previously teased in a photo the other day that the ‘Rebels’ epilogue is being redone in live-action for the new series, suggesting a little bit of time hopping is in order for the series.
Whatever this case, this marks the show’s fourth villain alongside Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), and the lightsaber wielding Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson) and Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno).
“Ahsoka” will launch in August on the Disney+ service.

Who is this mysterious Inquisitor, shown here in an exclusive still from the new #Ahsoka series? At this point in the #StarWars timeline, shouldn't they be all gone?
