Saturday’s meeting between SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP, including a large group of studio CEOs, has reportedly ended with the actor’s union now looking over the awaited response.
According to Deadline, the package from the studios is said to include the highest wage increase in forty years, along with a 100% increase in performance compensation bonuses for high budget streaming series and movies – at least according to the AMPTP.
There are also “full AI protections ” that go “a long way to what SAG wanted” say the outlet’s sources. The CEOs have reportedly called this a “historic package for the guild” and their “last, best, and final offer”.
Chiefs from Netflix, Disney, NBCUniversal, Paramount, Amazon, Sony, Apple Studios, Warner Bros Discovery and more were on hand for the call today.
Guild president Fran Drescher, chief negotiator Duncan Crabtreee-Ireland and other members of SAG-AFTRA’s negotiating committee are going over the AMPTP’s response. In a statement from SAG-AFTRa, they say: “We are reviewing it and considering our response within the context of the critical issues addressed in our proposals.”
It’s not clear if this means further discussions later today or tomorrow, but apparently “cautious optimism” is once again the sentiment on hand.
