Sunday night saw the return of “The Walking Dead” for its final eight-episode run. That’s not the end of the story though, as AMC also released a trailer highlighting what’s to come from the franchise in 2023.
Dubbed “The Walking Dead Universe,” the clip reveals the titles for its three upcoming spin-off shows – “Dead City,” “Daryl Dixon,” and “Rick & Michonne”.
“Dead City,” formerly titled the more interesting “Isle of the Dead,” sees Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan reprise their roles of Maggie and Negan as they navigate a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland.
“Daryl Dixon” will revolve around Norman Reedus’ character as he finds himself in Paris. The series was originally slated to be a Daryl and Carol-centered series until Melissa McBride exited in April last year.
Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira will reprise their roles in the “Rick & Michonne” series, which sees them “thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead … and ultimately, a war against the living Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they’ve ever known before?” according to the synopsis.
All three are slated to debut next year alongside the eighth season of “Fear the Walking Dead”.
