Amazon Studios has touted the recently released “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” as a “great success” and cites the movie as having been streamed by “tens of millions of customers” during its opening weekend.
They add that within the first few hours of the watch party on Thursday night, over a million fans tuned in to interact live with Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat himself and participate in a dance party with fans around the world.
Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios says: “With the tremendous launch of this global, tentpole movie, it’s clear our customers around the world want content that is both relevant and entertaining.”
Of course eyebrows are being raised in regards to the obvious lack of specific statistics from Amazon over that success metric (how many ‘tens of millions’ are we talking?). However the streamer won’t go into any further details.
Amazon Prime Video also released a new blooper reel for the second season of “The Boys” which recently finished its run of new episodes. It can be viewed below.
