Amazon MGM Studios is reportedly working on a remake of the 1987 comedy “Baby Boom” which starred Diane Keaton who passed away last month.
The InSneider broke the story, revealing that the new version will be produced and directed by “The Big Sick” and “The Idea of You” director Michael Showalter.
Keaton starred in the original film as J.C. Wiatt, a New York City businesswoman who is married to her job and has a relationship with Steven (Harold Ramis), a successful investment broker.
Her life takes an unexpected turn when a relative suddenly dies and makes her the caretaker of a baby girl. The arrival causes J.C. to lose first Steven, and then her job as she moves to Vermont and embarks on a series of life-changing events.
But when offered the opportunity, will she return to her corporate ways? Sam Shepard, Sam Wanamaker and James Spader co-starred in the film which Charles Shyer directed and co-wrote with Nancy Meyers.
No word on who will potentially star in the new version.
