Amazon Prime’s young adult survival drama “The Wilds” will reportedly not be returning for a third season.
Cast and crew were just informed of the decision, the news coming almost three months after the second season arrived on May 6th. The series followed eight teenage girls stranded on a deserted island under mysterious circumstances.
“The Wilds” generated a lot of buzz when it launched December 2020, earning a swift renewal, but the second season reaction has proven much more subdued. In the interim between seasons, Showtime’s survival drama “Yellowjackets” premiered and captured the zeitgeist in a way “The Wilds” could only envy.
The project was the first young adult series to premiere on Prime Video and the first to go to a second season.
