Following their Golden Globe win on Sunday for best TV drama series with “Transparent,” Amazon Studios has announced that filmmaker Woody Allen will write and direct a new half-hour series for the service.
A full season has already been ordered, and in typical Allen style there’s no title, cast or plot details as yet. The only thing that is set is a 2016 airdate.
In a press release, Allen says: “I don’t know how I got into this. I have no ideas and I’m not sure where to begin. My guess is that [Amazon Studios Vice President] Roy Price will regret this.”
Due to this, it means Allen probably won’t have a film in cinemas next year. He’s already shot his 2015 entry, a still untitled movie starring Joaquin Phoenix and Emma Stone.
