The classic board game “The Game of Life,” memorable mostly for its colourful numbered wheel players would spin on their turn, is becoming a movie.

Deadline reports that Amazon MGM Studios, Chernin Entertainment and Hasbro are teaming to bring the title to cinemas, with the project currently in development.

“The Game of Life” has sold more than 70 million units across 59 countries and 26 languages and follows players chasing their dreams as they navigate careers, relationships and unexpected twists on the road to success.

Sean Anders (“Daddy’s Home,” “Instant Family”) is directing the film from a script by Allan Loeb (“Collateral Beauty”), who came up with an angle for a film adaptation that Chernin and Hasbro clicked with.

Amazon then quickly boarded the project which is being dubbed a “big priority at the studio”. Anders, Peter Chernin, David Ready, Zev Foreman and John Morris will produce.

Hasbro has multiple projects in development including both a scripted film and a Netflix competition game show based on “Monopoly,” reimaginings of “Clue” and “Magic: The Gathering” for film and TV; a “My Little Pony” live-action film, and new “Dungeons & Dragons” and “Power Rangers” series,
